Bescot Stadium December 1st Show Preview

BCB Promotions will return to the Bescot Stadium in Walsall for a night of professional boxing on Friday December 1st with a stacked card featuring some of the best prospects in the Midlands.

Birmingham’s Tommy Collins will step through the ropes for the third time this year following his impressive wins against Eduardo Valverde in March and Marian Wesolowski in October. The later his first over the eight round distance which took his record to a perfect nine wins from nine and he will be hoping to make it in to double figure victories with his army of fans making the journey up the M6 to support their charge.

Local lad Ryan Woolridge who is also unbeaten, looked very sharp last time out, comfortably beating Kristaps Zulgis to improve his record to seven wins from seven. The Bloxwich southpaw will be looking to round out his third year in the paid ranks with another win and move closer to an area title shot in 2024.

Former kick boxer Ryan Griffiths has made a successful start to life under the queensbury rules, picking up three wins from three since turning over in March this year. The 22 year old from Dudley had to climb off the canvas last time out against Stefan Vincent but he bounced back in impressive style taking the last two rounds to secure a narrow points win.

‘Baggie Boy’ Jay Griffiths will have his third bout of the year and the first outside of Wolverhampton after back to back shut out wins against M J Hall and Steve Davies at the Hangar events venue in July and September. Activity is key in and Jay who grew up in Tipton before moving to Wombourne will be hoping he can end the year on a high note.

Callum Blockley will be boxing on his first BCB show after fighting exclusively in his home city of Leicester since turning over in 2018. The 27-year-old southpaw has put together a very solid ten win streak resume which included a step up to the ten round distance stopping Basi Razaq back in March. Blockley had been linked with a Midlands title shot against Ben Vaughan and will be looking to make a statement to solidify his area title ambitions.

Ameen Khalid has been getting some elite level sparring ahead of this fight, sharing the ring with European champion Liam Davies. The 27-year-old from Worcester has racked up seven wins since turning professional and will hope to be in the title mix in 2024.
