Wolves Fanatic Brandon Bethell Determined To Make An Impression

Brandon Bethell is the latest from the TMA Trojan Gym family to turn professional and will make his debut on October 27th on the Ryan Kelly River Wilson-Bent undercard at the Holiday Inn, Birmingham.

The 22-year-old from Wolverhampton is a former kickboxer following his dad into the sport as an eager child, enjoying a decade in the mixed martial art before deciding to take up the sweet science of boxing instead.

“I loved kick boxing, I had so many fights and picked up a lot of stoppages, I can’t even remember how many, but I knew that one day I would switch over, so I started out boxing as an amateur and then white collar and I haven’t looked back”.

Bethell is a diehard Wolverhampton Wanderers fan and season ticket holder who must fit training in around the away day trips.

“I go to as many matches as I can, I am also working part time at the moment, but I really live the life of a boxer, I train twice a day with a lot of focus on my strength and conditioning.

“The camp for my debut has been a lot harder than anything I have done before, I sell a lot of tickets so I want to be in the best shape possible to put on a show and so people can see what I am capable of”.

His trainer Gavin Burrows who has had great success with the likes of Rachel Ball and Katie Healy, thinks Brandon will be a fan favourite.

“He is a popular lad” said Burrows “He is liked by everyone, and the crowd always got behind him in his white collar and amateur bouts. Brandon has a very fan friendly style and is a do or die type of fighter which means he always brings excitement”.

Bethell will be fighting at lightweight, one of the sport’s most competitive divisions and despite lofty ambitions his feet are still firmly on the ground.

“I know it is what people are meant to say but I am taking it one fight at a time, I am young and have time to learn and get better and can’t wait to get going on the 27th”.

Tickets for the Holiday Inn bill are available, priced at £40 standard or £80 VIP ringside directly from the boxers or by visiting myfighttickets.com.
