Ahmed Braithwaite Undercard Takes Shape

Anticipation is building for the British Super Flyweight Title rematch between Ijaz Ahmed and Marcel Braithwaite and that big headliner will be supported by a packed undercard showcasing some of best up and coming talent in the area.

Sian O’Toole has had a quick turn around from her debut bout on September 2nd and will look to build on her successful performance a shut out six rounds’ points win over Derby’s Amy Greatorex.

The former three-time national time champion and GB Amateur has been highly touted and is part of a bustling group of female fighters in the gym.

Another female making waves is Birmingham’s Tori-Ellis Willets, a former world amateur championship competitor, the 28-year-old has won both of her professional bouts stopping Claudia Ferenczi on her debut and followed that up with points win over Wendellin Cruz. She will be looking to step through the levels and make up for missing out on a home Commonwealth games through no fault of her own and bring major titles back to Birmingham instead.

The popular Hamza ‘King’ Azeem has had almost the perfect start to life in the paid ranks dropping just one round in his first three contests. Two wins over teak tough Paul Cummings and one over centurion M J Hall has put the full-time prison officer in a good position after a stop start amateur career. The tricky southpaw who has sparred many a round with fan favourite Kane Baker has big ambitions in the sport and will look to make it four from four in his home City.

Walsall’s Hamzah Ahmed known as the ‘Poster Boy’ got his paid start up and running with a 40-36 win in June against Gurjant Singh and will be hoping for a repeat of that punch perfect performance.

Nechells Green ABC graduate Zain Ali will be making his debut and fulfilling the dreams of his grandmother who had always wanted her grandson to box. Life outside the ring has not always been easy but life in the gym has given the super welterweight a real thing to focus on and he hopes to get off to the perfect start.

The event staged by BCB Promotions in conjunction with Fightzone takes place at the Holiday Inn Queensway in Birmingham on October 20th .
