Three Kings: What A Weekend For BCB

Lennox Clarke, Zach Parker and Danny Ball all bring home the belts

A host of fighters took to the squared circle this weekend as BCB Promotions continued to build on an impressive recent run of form.

Swadlincote’s Zach Parker put America’s Vaughn Alexander to the sword on Queensbury Promotion’s Show at London’s Copper Box Arena on Friday evening.

26 year-old Parker picked up the vacant WBO International Super Middleweight Title and secured his position as mandatory challenger to Billy Joe Saunders main WBO crown with a stunning second round stoppage of Alexander, brother of Devon, live on BT Sport.

On the same card, Kingswinford’s Danny Ball defended his WBC International Silver Welterweight Title against Sam Gilley.

Ball boxed superbly to record a points win over bookies favourite Gilley to retain his belt, and unbeaten record.

On Saturday night, again live on BT, it was second time lucky for Halesowen’s Lennox Clarke. ‘Dangerous’ blew away highly touted Willy Hutchinson to claim the British and Commonwealth Super Middleweight Titles.

The 29 year-old dropped and stopped the former amateur star with a trio of heavy blows in the fifth round.

Also on Saturday night, but in Gibraltar, Birmingham based Kane Baker appeared on the Dillian Whyte Alexander Povetkin Rumble on the Rock undercard.

It wasn’t to be for Baker though as he suffered a fifth round stoppage at the costs of fellow super featherweight, Youssef Khoumari.

Completing the boxing round-up, Walsall-based Kearon Thomas suffered a points defeat against debutant Jason Harty on the Parker/Ball BT Sport card on Friday evening whilst Wolverhampton’s Clayton Bricknell lost on points to Eithan James on BT’s Saturday offering.
