Scarrott Lands Dream Title Fight

James Scarrott will head to the historic York Hall in Bethnal Green on June 8th, where he will face off against Yaser Al Ghena for the vacant English Super Lightweight title headlining Goodwin Boxing’s Boxmania Eight event.

The unbeaten 20-year-old from Worcester claimed the Midlands crown back in February with a points win over Jamie Stewart in just his sixth professional contest, but has since vacated the belt to allow himself to take this major opportunity.

Al Ghena is also unbeaten with eleven wins to his name, and September 2023 saw the 29-year-old who was born in Syria but lives in Finchley, win the Southern Area title with a 9th round stoppage win over the then undefeated Aaron Prospere.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to box at the York Hall said Scarrott. As it’s the home of boxing in the UK, and to have the opportunity to win the English title in the main event at such a historic venue is a dream come true. I’ve been training harder than I ever have before, and I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in. I feel fit, strong, and confident that I will come away with the belt.

Tickets for ‘Boxmania Eight’ are available now priced £50, £70 and £100 VIP.
