World Class Sparring For Willetts Ahead Of May 10th

Unbeaten Tori-Ellis Willetts got off to a busy start in her professional career with three fights in five months, but she hasn’t boxed since October last year. The talented bantamweight is keen to get active again as she sets her sights on a title shot and will step through the ropes on May 10th at the H-Suite in Edgebaston on a BCB Promotions show.

“It has been a while, said Willetts. I didn’t want to be out of the ring for seven months, but I have left Fight Zone now, and my first show back is a home one, which means a lot to me. I want to step up to eight rounds and fight for a title, and this is the first step towards achieving that.

The 28-year-old lives in Sutton Coldfield and as well as focusing on her own career, she spends a lot of time coaching amateur boxers at the Acocks Green Boxing Club in Tyseley and is a familiar face in the corner at shows across the country.

“Coaching has been a big part of my life, and I want to give back and pass on my knowledge. It is something I can see myself doing long after I have finished boxing myself. For the young girls in the gym, I want to set an example for them and give them someone to look up to.

Willetts may have only three fights in, but she has an extensive amateur career that saw her box internationally for Team GB and has spent a lot of time sparring with some of the best boxers in the world. Yet to drop a round in her three pro fights, she has looked a level above her opposition and soundly beat Ivanka Ivanova at the Holiday Inn in Birmingham last time out.

“Training for May 10th has gone well. I have done ten rounds with world champion Nina Hughes. It feels good to get in with someone who has achieved at that level and test myself against them.

Tickets for the show on May 10th are now available, priced at £40 standard and £80 VIP ringside, from the boxers directly or by emailing info@bcb-promotions.com.
