Good Night For Home Fighters In Wolverhampton

BCB Promotions’ penultimate show of the boxing season took place at the Hangar, Wolverhampton, on Friday night.
Wolverhampton’s Gully Powar extended his unbeaten start to life as a professional boxer to 5-0 with a comfortable 60-54 win over Melksham’s Liam Richards.
It was the second time the pair had met after Powar bested Richards at the same venue in March. That time it was over four rounds but Powar was able to show his prowess over six on this occasion as he topped the bill.
The 20 year-old showed maturity beyond his years to record a shut out 60-54 win.
Wolverhampton’s Fin Cooper opened his pro account with victory over Latvia’s Kitspas Zulgis.
Cooper settled into the fight as it wore on and will be pleased with his work as he recorded a shut 40-36 debut win.
Tamworth’s Oli Cassidy defeated Martin Shaw in impressive fashion. Cassidy eased himself into the fight before stopping George in the third stanza.
Coventry’s Brad Goldsmith was equally as impressive as he recorded a second round stoppage win against Lithuania’s Egidijius Zukas.
Big WBA fan Jay Griffiths opened his pro account with an impressive display against the team tough MJ Hall. Griffiths looked composed against the always tricky Hall as he recorded a 40-36 win.
At the beginning of the show Swindon’s Lewis Roberts defeated Nabil Ahmed 60-55 whilst Italy’s Traian Toudasache bested Naheem Ali 40-36.
