Friday’s Show To Be Broadcast on BBC!

We are delighted to announce Fightzone’s agreement with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) which will see our upcoming Friday 10 March event air live on their digital platforms.

Fans will be able to catch the action on BBC iPlayer and on the BBC Sport app & website.

The event is headlined by British female boxing pioneer and former world champion Hannah Rankin (12-6, 3 KO’s), who in 2013 became Scotland’s first-ever female professional boxer, as she faces American challenger Logan Holler (9-2-1, 3 KO’s).

The WBA Intercontinental championship is on the line in the co-headline bout when Wolverhampton’s Kirstie Bavington (7-2, 2 KO’s) – the reigning EBU welterweight champion – faces x2 Time World Champion rival Canadian Kandi Wyatt (10-4, 3 KO’s).

The card also features an English light heavyweight title fight between Ricky Summers (18-3-1) and Joel Mclntyre (20-5, 2 KO’s). Traditionally some of the most heated contests in the boxing world, English title fights have a reputation for being all-action encounters and this showdown between Summers and Mclntyre promises to be no different.

Dennis Hobson, FightZone promoter, said “This is a huge partnership for women’s boxing in the UK and a landmark moment for the women’s sport. We are delighted to be helping to raise the profile of world-class British female athletes like Hannah Rankin and Kirstie Bavington through this live, international broadcast.”
