Owen Hunts 5-0

Macauley Owen is determined to finish the year with a bang.

The Telford boxer fights in his hometown – at the Telford International Centre – on Saturday night (November 19), as part of Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions show, with the BT Sport cameras rolling.

Owen takes on Nicaragua’s Eduardo Valverde as he looks to move to 5-0.

His last outing was a whitewash points win against Stu Greener in September following on from his previous – also whitewash – win over erstwhile journeyman Liam Richards.

The 25-year-old lightweight represented Donnington Boxing Club, as an amateur, amassing 25 wins from 45 bouts.

Owen later boxed for Coventry University, while completing an undergraduate degree in sports science and a masters in sports nutrition.

He became a national champion, too, in the Clubs for Young People (CYP) Championships and is now trained by Shiney Singh, at the MLSS Community Hub gym in Bloxwich.

Owen joins fellow BCB fighters Liam Davies, Connor Parker and Owen Cooper on the Frank Warren card.
