Blue Nose Baker Ready For Villa Park Outing

Kane Baker in title action this weekend

Blue Nose Kane Baker goes in search of national honours at the home of Aston Villa this weekend.

The BCB Promotions trained boxer challenges highly-rated Myron Mills for the English Lightweight Title at Villa Park on Saturday evening (9th November).

The 29 year-old, a big Birmingham City fan, knows all about winning trophies at the home of Blues’ arch rivals as Villa Park was the scene of his biggest triumph to date.

Baker openly admitted that winning the Midlands Area Lightweight Title – thanks to a deserved points victory over the previously unbeaten Ishmael Ellis in December – was his ‘world title’. Now though, with the English strap in his sights, Baker is hoping to go a step further at the place where his grandad’s ashes are spread.

“Winning the English would be a double world title,” Baker told bcb-promotions.com. “Myron Mills is a fighter I respect. He’s sharp and skillful and obviously goes into the fight as the favourite.

“We’ve had a few dramas getting on but it’s here now. It’s been a long camp with dates being changed but I’ve carried on grinding and I’m ready now.

“I’m unbeaten at Villa Park. My grandad’s ashes are buried there too after I won the Midlands. I won’t go as far as wearing a Villa shirt but it’s a happy hunting ground for me!”
