Kingwinford’s Danny Ball goes in search of title honours this weekend.
The 22-year-old takes on Birmingham’s Kaisee Benjamin for the Midlands Area Welterweight at Villa Park’s Holte Suite on Friday, 29th March.
After a morale boosting points win over Jordan Grannum at Walsall Town Hall last month, Ball is confident of lifting the title in Benjamin’s backyard.
“Camp has been great,” he said.”Ever since my last fight I’ve just stayed in the gym, kept going over Christmas and am as ready as I can be.
“I just want to get in there now and get the job done. Sparring and our game plan has all worked out really well and I couldn’t be happier.
“It is my first fight at welterweight but making weight is not an issue for me at all. I’m nearly there now already and hopefully the step down will really suit me.
“I’m quite tall for a welterweight but the speed and snap and power is all there.
“We have fought similar opponents so far and people are telling me he’s a puncher but I can’t see how he’s going to be any stronger than me.
“Hopefully a big win will open even more doors and set me further on my way but I won’t be looking further than Friday.”
