Bethell Ready To Shine Again

Brandon Bethell shone on his debut and will be looking for more of the same when he boxes on BCB Promotions ‘Fight Before Xmas’ show at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on December 20th.

The talented 22-year-old from Wolverhampton joined the paid ranks in October when he put in an eye-catching performance knocking out Logan Paling inside a round. The Wolves fanatic who trains under Gavin Burrows at the TMA Trojan gym is one of just two men who have managed to prevent Paling from seeing the final bell.

A body shot was the decisive blow, but the former kickboxer had landed numerous power punches throughout the opening round and put together some superb combinations.

“I really enjoyed it, you only get one debut and I can look back and be happy with everything that happened on the night. All the things we worked on in the gym before the fight worked. I never expected it to be over so quickly but the way I box it is about keeping a high pace and starting fast. Gavin and I focused a lot on body shots, and I was landing them from the off, and it was a good shot that put him over.

“When I boxed as an amateur I had a really good following and to see that carry on to my first professional fight there is no other way to describe it besides I was buzzing. Walking out to the ring with everyone there to support me was a great feeling and I just want to go do it again”.

“Training for this one has been about working on more of the same things and being prepared to go the rounds. I felt I would have been fine doing the four last time and I need to be able to do the same on the 20th. Gavin has been over in Grand Cayman for Katie Healy’s title fight, but I have only missed a week with him so it won’t put me back at all.

Away from the ring Bethell is a massive Wolverhampton Wanderers fan and season ticket holder, who holds down a part-time job but his priority and focus is on his boxing career.

“I am loving the lifestyle of being a boxer, the gym is a brilliant place to be and doing things properly living the life is something I can’t get enough of”.

Tickets for the December 20th ‘Fight Before Xmas’ show are available now from the boxers directly or by emailing info@bcb-promotions.com, priced £40 standard and £80 VIP Ringside.
