Beech Ready For Bourke

Beech back in action

BCB Promotions’ very own Bloxwich Banger, James Beech Jnr, has set his eyes on a British title shot, but first he must defeat an undefeated knockout artist in Chris Bourke writes Matt Farrington.

This fight is scheduled to take place for the WBC international title in London on July 24th on a Frank Warren fight card headed by Joe Joyce versus Carlos Takam.

James spoke to bcb-promotions.com and he had an interesting take on the WBC International title on offer for the winner.

“The WBC belt doesn’t mean much to me really,” he confirmed. “It’s just a stepping stone title.

“He’s (Chris) high up in the rankings and the best thing is that winning this fight opens up doors for me. The British Title is the dream but I can’t look past Chris.”

James is committed to achieving this dream and has been training for his fight for months now. Since his cracking 12 round fight with Brad Foster a year ago, he has been “living the boxing life.”

Talking about the Brad Foster fight James said; “It has given me a lot of confidence. It’s bought me on so much, I’m now way more confident at mixing it at top level, I thought I was always good enough but now I know.”

His opponent, Chris Bourke, is an undefeated 9-0-0 prospect and he has built a reputation as a big puncher. He is coming off a 2-round KO victory against Rambalesta last December. However, he is in for a tough night against the motivated Black Country warrior, who always brings the heat through applying smart pressure, as he did against Foster.

“I’ll just get in there and see how I get on. I’m a boxer-fighter, I can box or fight, I’ll see what works the best but it should be an exciting one because Chris likes to mix it up a bit.

“My plan is to be me, I have an exciting style and if people watch me. They will want to watch me again.”
