English Champion Travels To Scotland

Wolverhampton’s Kyle Williams will travel to Scotland in April in search of British Title honours.

The English Bantamweight Champion takes on Scotland’s Kash Farooq in the British Champions backyard of Glasgow on Thursday, 25th April 2019.

Williams, who last year was crowned Midlands Area Champion and then English Champion, will put his unbeaten record (10-0) on the line against his fellow unbeaten foe (11-0) in a fight that has all the ingredients to be a classic.

“Kash Farooq is a strong worthy champion,” admitted Williams. “I’ve seen his last four fights and he has improved in all of them. I know beating him will be the hardest test for me at this point of my career.

“I see a very fast, all action war. With it being England versus Scotland there will be that extra needle and I know I can’t afford to stand in front of him because his explosive and very busy.

“I haven’t had an away day yet in my boxing career but I can’t wait! Although we are away, I will be taking a large number up to Glasgow. I’m very lucky to have the support I do from BCB Promotions my loyal fans and of course all my sponsors.”

“I’m really excited to get back out there,” Farooq added. “This will be my second defence now so I’m looking forward to it. It’s an English fighter this time so there will be a wee bit of a extra needle to it.

“Kyle could be one of the toughest opponents so far. I always look at the next fight ahead of me as being my toughest. You’re not going to get easy fights at this level. I train for every fight like it’s going to be the hardest yet – I’ve found that’s a good way to do things. I’ve seen a wee bit of Kyle before. He’s a good fighter and I expect a tough night.”

The fight will take place at the Radisson Blu, Glasgow City Centre, on Thursday, 25th April.

The show will be a dinner show and tickets prices and details will be announced shortly.
